Installation Instructions:These disks contain the following programs: Trumpet Winsock, mIRC3.64, Netscape 1.22, FTP, Telnet, and Eudora e-mail. These are preconfigured with the main defaults to be used with DSI. Put the first disk into the appropriate drive. Now choose File/Run (Start/Run for Win95) from program manager. In the command line box TYPE a:\install (b:\install) This will start the DSI Installation Program. You will then be prompted to enter a few essential items: a.) Enter real name - Click "OK" b.) Enter user name - Click "OK" (USER NAME IS CASE SENSITIVE) Click "OK" for the default directory of c:\highway With this information the setup will extract the files and setup the applications. Several screens entitled will cycle. A prompt will ask for DISK 2 - insert disk 2 and click "OK" - several more screens entitled will cycle. Installation is complete - a few customized settings for Windows 3.x need to be configured before "Surfing" (Windows 95 and Windows 98 customers need to configure the Win95 dialer instead of the following.) - a.) Double-Click on the icon for "CONNECT TO DSI"
- b.) Enter the dial-up number: Metairie/New Orleans 888-4126 or 620-1236; Covington/Mandeville 867-8141. (Add *70 comma before the number to disable call waiting if you have this feature) - Click "OK"
- c.) Enter the password issued by DSI - Click "OK" Immediately after entering the password the script will dial the system and attempt to log you in.
- d.) Before the modem dials - IMMEDIATELY HIT "ESCAPE"
- e.) Choose File/Setup from this program - at the bottom left corner in the box for "SLIP Port", enter the com port for the modem.
- f.) The "BAUD Rate" must correlate with your speed modem:

Click "OK" - a prompt will appear that states "You will need to restart Trumpet Winsock" - Click "OK" again.Exit Trumpet Winsock completely by choosing File/Exit. Now you are ready to dial into DSI. TO CONNECT: (using Windows 3.x) Double-click on "Connect to DSI" icon, the script will dial the system and attempt to log you in. When you see the words "PPP SESSION FROM" and the packets of funny looking characters start to appear in the terminal window, PRESS THE ESCAPE KEY. This should abort the script and enable PPP (Point to Point Protocol). Once this is done you are successfully logged in. From here "minimize" the terminal window and choose an Internet program from the DSI group window.
